The as yet unconfirmed smartphone is being referred to as the Nokia P1, and now it seems the company has confirmed it will come packing a Snapdragon 835 chip.
Different individuals already projected that it will be the iPhone of Androids.
On a query (via NokiaPowerUser) about rumoured Snapdragon 835 smartphone, Nokia’s Weibo account replied, “Understood your mood, because the new high-end Snapdragon SoC has just released, please give us some time to prepare, when the time will be made public.”
However, this is a reading from a translation and one cannot be sure.
According to leaks from by Russian publication Worket, the P1 is expected to start retailing at around $800 (roughly Rs. 54,500) for the 128GB model and around $950 (roughly Rs. 64,700) for the 256GB variant.
The P1 is also expected to run on Android Nougat and sports a 5.3-inch display, covered with Gorilla Glass 5, with either full-HD or QHD screen resolution. The Nokia P1 is expected to pack Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM.
Furthermore, Nokia P1 has a 22.6 MP back camera and it’s probably to be Zeiss-certified. The body, on the other hand, must be dust- and water-resistant, it is IP57-certified.
The Nokia P1 was also reported that it would have a 5.3-inch IGZO display with some outstanding progress. It would have renewed rate of 120Hz, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 or 5 up front and 1080 x 1920 pixels transversely.
