Huawei Honor 6x Review- best under 15000rs???

Here we had done the Huawei honor 6x review. Huawei Honor 6X smartphone was launched in October 2016. The phone comes with a 5.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels. Huawei Honor 6X price in India starts from Rs. 12,999.

The Huawei Honor 6X is powered by 1.7GHz octa-core Kirin 655 processor and it comes with 3GB of RAM. The phone packs 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Huawei Honor 6X packs a 12-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

The Huawei Honor 6X runs Android 6.0 and is powered by a 3340mAh non removable battery. It measures 150.90 x 72.60 x 8.20 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 162.00 grams.

Display and Design

The Honor 6X retains the composite metal design of its predecessor, which means that while the design does feature metal elements, it doesn’t come with a full metal unibody construction. The metal back plate is surrounded by plastic windows at the top and bottom to help with network reception, and with the metal now wrapping around to the front, you will find a plastic frame that goes around the outer edges of the glass instead.

It may not feel as “premium” as its full metal unibody counterparts, but the build quality is excellent nonetheless. There’s very little to complain about on the design front, especially when you consider this phone’s low price point.

The 6X also sports a slightly more curvy design when compared to its predecessors. The back plate tapers along the edges and corners, resulting in a far more comfortable in-hand feel.

Overall, the buttons on the 6X don’t feel very tactile and don’t offer the satisfying click that many users look for, which is unfortunate. On the left side of the device, you’ll find the power button and volume rocker, while the headphone jack is placed at the top. On the bottom of the device you’ll find the microUSB port, flanked by two grills – one that houses the speaker unit, and one that hides the microphone.

Finally, the right side of the device houses the dual-SIM card slot/microSD card tray. There’s also a fingerprint sensor on the back, which sits below the dual-camera sensor.

Honor gives the 6X a 5.5-inch screen, a nice size for a budget model. It’s a full-HD 1080 x 1920 display, which is right what we’d expect from a handset like this – 720p, and we’d be taking a much more critical position. To succeed with a screen like this, the 6X doesn’t have to do that much; really it just has to avoid making any big mistakes.

And the good news for Honor is that it doesn’t. Screen brightness is quite good, hitting around 500 nits in our testing. For the sake of comparison, that’s not quite as bright as something like an iPhone 7, but actually a little big brighter than flagships like the Galaxy S7. And for a phone at this price point, it’s more than we could ask for.

Colors look pretty nice, and while our testing did suggest a little loss of fidelity with very saturated images, it’s far, far from the worst we’ve seen in recent memory. Software options like color temperature adjustment, and a contrast-enhancing mode for use in bright sunlight help make that already-good display hardware even better.

The handset comes with a screen protector installed, but you’re free to remove it if that’s not your jam.

Performance review:-

The Honor 6X sports an SoC developed by Huawei in-house, called the Kirin 655. This mid-range octa-core chip packs in four Cortex-A53 CPU cores running at 2.1GHz and four companion Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.7GHz. In terms of graphics, we have a Mali-T830 GPU. The Kirin 655 is roughly 20-25 percent slower than Qualcomm’s equivalent Snapdragon 625.

While it’s not exactly a powerhouse of an SoC, it does pack a good enough punch to handle most games and apps. The Honor 6X got an AnTuTu score of 57,530; PCMark score of 4,406; and 3DMark Unlimited score of 7,810. Honor is launching two variants of the Honor 6X in India – one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, and the other with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

The stock music and video players handle different types of media well. The Honor 6X can play 1080p video files and FLAC audio files. You even get an audio enhancement features called SWS when you use headphones, although audio quality is only strictly okay through the speakers and with after-market headphones.

Camera Review:-

We now come to one of the highlights of the Honor 6X, which is its dual rear cameras. The primary 12-megapixel sensor is accompanied by a 2-megapixel sensor below it, which is used only for depth perception instead of improving the quality of the picture, similar to the iPhone 7 plus. The main camera uses is a Sony IMX386 sensor and supports PDAF.

The camera app on the Honor 6X offers a wide aperture mode which lets you simulate an aperture range of f/0.95 to f/16. You can get some good bokeh effects here, provided you frame your subjects well. In terms of image quality, the camera is pretty capable as long as you have good lighting. In daylight, pictures have good details and colours are represented pretty accurately. Macro shots are also fairly sharp.

For the best results when utilizing the bokeh effect, it is recommended to keep the focus point on subjects in the foreground, as switching the focus point to subjects in the background can make the bokeh effect look artificial.

The rest of the camera app is easy to navigate. Swiping to the left takes you to the general camera settings, and a swipe to the right will give you access to a good selection of shooting modes, including a beauty mode, night shot, manual mode, and a mode for scanning documents.

If you want a camera centric phone backed with midrange specs and nice looks, then surely this phone is for you…
